The Holy Spirit is a Person

Date: 9 September 2018 | Speaker: Peter Jackel

Baptism is an act of obedience symbolising the believer’s faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Saviour, the believer’s death to sin, the burial of the old life, and the resurrection to walk in newness of life in Christ Jesus. It is a testimony to the believer’s faith in the final resurrection of the dead. We answer some questions about the reason for baptism, when to baptise and what form should baptism take.

If we want to sow the seeds of life then we need to begin speaking the words that bring life – God’s word!

The Blood of Jesus Overcomes

Date: 4 March 2018 | Speaker: Peter Jackel

The shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ is what enables us to overcome the enemy (Rev 12:11). When you understand the blood of Christ and what has it has accomplished for you, then each one of us can take our stands against the devil and his accusations against us. We then, like the Hebrews living in Egypt, apply the blood to our lives by faith – and so we grow in our ability to overcome all the devil’s schemes.

The Blood of Jesus

Date: 25 February 2018 | Speaker: Peter Jackel

The bible refers to the ‘precious blood of Jesus’ as that which saves us. When we think about the cross, we often focus on the death, burial and resurrection. But at the cross, the blood of Jesus was shed through injuries, beatings and ultimately being speared through the heart. It is the most important factor in how our salvation is won. Without the ‘shedding of blood there can be no forgiveness of sin’ – thanks be to God for the shed blood of His one and only son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Our hearts and minds resonate with the idea of being saved. Religions around the world say, “You’re lost – you can save yourself! Follow these rules, visit these sites, pay this homage, recite these prayers.” Jesus simply says, “You’re lost, I’m coming to find and save you!” What an amazing Saviour we have in Jesus!

Instead expect problems and joy in the work they are producing in you!

Radical! Reproducing Yourself

That’s the genius of Jesus – anyone can do this!

Jesus told Peter that He would “build His church, and the gates of Hell would not prevail against it.” We see the church in decline in the west, yet an explosion of activity elsewhere. Why? Yet we have been satisfied with a poor reflection of what church should really be about – the manifest presence of God amongst us.
