About Us

What We Celebrate

Discipleship

We are called into the place of discipleship to follow in the footsteps of Jesus. Additionally as a faith community we are mission-minded and committed to making disciples.

Missions

Our God is a missional God sending His son, Jesus Christ to the earth to share with us the gospel message. As a church we believe in enabling mission, both local and global, through our prayers, our giving and our sending.

Community

We cultivate community through authentic, loving and respectful relationships within our gatherings and we create friendships with our neighbors through our community programs (eg. Open Hands).

Celebrations

Celebrating and enjoying God’s presence through inspiring and creative worship, the proclamation of the Word of God and encounters with Jesus Christ through the presence of the Holy Spirit.

Things We Value & Believe

About God

God is the creator and ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three persons – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.

Genesis 1:1, 26, 27; 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians 13:14

About Man

Man is made in the spiritual image of God, to be like him in character. He is the supreme object of God’s creation. Although man has tremendous potential for good, he is marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called “sin.” This attitude separates man from God.

Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6a; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1, 2

Jesus Christ as Lord

Jesus Christ is central to everything we do at Carnegie. The living Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all men by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to heaven’s glory and will return again to earth to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Ephesians 2:20; Matthew 1:22, 23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5, 14:10-30; Hebrews 4:14, 15; 1 Corinthians 15:3, 4; Romans 1:3, 4; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Timothy 6:14, 15; Titus 2:13

The Leadership of the Holy Spirit

We value the leadership and empowerment of the Holy Spirit demonstrated through the gifts and fruits of the Spirit and in the exercising of these gifts in the proclamation of the Gospel, revelation, healing, signs and wonders.

John 16:7-11, 1 Corinthians 12:7,12, Romans 8:16

Passionate Spirituality

We value the strengthening of our faith and encountering God through obedience to the Word, personal devotion, fervent prayer, fasting and inspired worship, both personally and corporately.

2 Chronicles 7:14, Luke 18:1-8, John 4:23-24

Equipping People

We value mobilising and enabling people through discipleship, training and preparing God’s people for works of service and witness to reach their fullest potential and calling in God.

Ephesians 2:10, 4:11-13, Timothy 2:2

Christ-Centered Ministry

We value Christ-like servanthood, reaching out with compassion, power, grace and love, and bringing hope to the lost and needy.  We are mission-focussed, both locally and globally.

Mark 10:45, Matthew 9:36-38, 25:40

The Authority of God’s Word

We believe in the infallibility and absolute authority of the Living Word of God as the motivation and foundation of our faith.  We value relevance of God’s Word by studying and applying it in our daily lives.

James 1:22, 2 Timothy 3:16, Psalm 119:11

Loving Relationships

As a people from all nations and across all ages, we value growing together in unity through Christ-centered relationships.  We give generously in meeting the needs of others and love one another as Christ loves us.

John 13:34-35, Acts 2:46-47, 1 John 3:17
